💲 4-H and TD Bank💲 are proud to announce a night of Financial Literacy for Teens, featuring our Smart Cents curriculum – sure to give the teen audience renewed clarity and confidence about money matters so they can make informed decisions as they head into adulthood in the future.
Plus, ALL pre-registered workshop participants will receive a prize sent to them in the mail.

Youth in 4th grade & above are invited to join the Virtual 4-H Bridge Club. Club members will participate in group activities; learn about time management and organizational skills; explore nutrition, health and wellness; have the opportunity to meet kids from other counties; and more. Meetings are the 2nd Thursday of each month, 7:00-8:00 PM.

NJ 4-H Food Security Seminar Series
New Jersey 4-H is recruiting a team to participate in the World Food Prize Research Project. Youth members will work with a team to develop individual research projects addressing global food security issues. Participants will meet once a week with mentors and peers to prepare their research projects. Projects will be presented at the Rutgers University Youth Institute Summit on March 5. During this day-long program, students get to learn about critical global issues, network with local leaders, engage in hands-on activities, and explore exciting ways to become effective change agents in their own communities, conscientious global citizens, and tomorrow’s scientific humanitarian leaders. Sessions will run on Mondays, 7:00–8:00 pm starting January 4–February 1.

Career Detectives STEP Club: Clean Energy
Are you a youth member in grades 7–13 who is interested in learning about a future career in clean energy? If so, the Career Detectives S.T.E.P club is for you! Join us for a fun and informative mini-series to learn about how you can accomplish your dream of working in the field of clean energy. Guest speakers from Rutgers Cooperative Extension, Stockton University, and the New Jersey Clean Energy Program are excited to connect with you. They will teach you about their careers and provide information about undergraduate degrees. We will be hosting fun trivia throughout the experience as well. Sessions will run January 25–27, 2021 from 7:00–8:30 pm.

My Body and Me (4‑H SPIN Club)
We invite 4‑H junior members (grades 4–6) to join us as we explore the human body. The human body is filled with unique systems and interesting organs that we could simply not live without! Each night, we will cover a specific system of the body and discuss the importance of that system. We will learn about ways to maintain a healthy body while doing interactive and engaging activities along the way. Youth will also have a chance to practice their presentation skills as they will work on a Career Research Assignment throughout the course and present their career at the end of the course. Sessions will run for seven Mondays at 7 pm (Jan 25, Feb 1, Feb 8, Feb 15, Feb 22, Mar 1, and Mar 8).

AVAILABILITY: OPEN TO ALL YOUTH IN GRADES 1-4
Put on your lab coats and get ready for some do-it-yourself science! Join us on December 8th from 3 to 4pm on Zoom where we’ll be exploring the wild world of hands-on science. In this fully interactive event, we’ll show you how to make your own groovy lava lamp, master the weather in your own home, and create mystifying magic paper towel art.
This event is open to all youth (you do not need to be a 4-H member to participate!) in grades 1-4. So register below and invite your non-4-H friends to have some fun and learn a little something along the way. All participants will be emailed the necessary resources prior to the event.

Celebrate the Holidays with Our Jolly Gingerbread Challenge! From now until December 16th, we want you to send us your best gingerbread creations. Open to the public in grades K-13 (one year out of high school), this is the perfect opportunity to have some fun and get creative with your family and friends.
All entries can be sent to 4histops@gmail.com and must include an image of your creation, your name, and the grade you’re in.
On December 18th, we’ll open voting up to the public so you can decide who made the best gingerbread creation! For a full list of rules, dates, and instructions, check out the event below.

Join Somerset County 4-H this holiday season for an hour of Christmas Crafts for you and your family to enjoy! Open to the public in grades 1-4, register to find out how you can create your own holiday cheer this season. An email including all necessary supplies will be emailed to all registrants.

Why: To help prepare 4-H Horse project members for several of the State 4-H Horse Project events coming in 2021.
When: December 28-30 from 6:45pm-9pm each night
State 4-H Horse Club Leaders and State Round-Up Coaches will present information about the Virtual Model Horse Show, Virtual Equine Art Show, Virtual Horse Bowl, Horse Judging, and Hippology contests.

2021 New Jersey State 4-H Model Horse Show
WHEN: Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021
OPEN TO: 4-H members in good standing. Juniors are in 4th to 7th grade. Seniors are in 8th to 13th grade as of September 2020. *This is different than other State 4-H Equine Events.
WHERE: Virtually, using the SmugMug platform. Results will be posted as they are available throughout the day.
START TIME: Photos must be uploaded by 10 p.m. on Jan. 15, 2021. Judging will start around 9 a.m. Jan. 16, 2021.
