State Bridge to 4-H Club
Next Meeting January 21
If you are a registered 4‑H member in New Jersey and are looking for a monthly online 4‑H Club experience, join Bridge to 4‑H! This is a life skills, healthy living, and leadership club. Maybe your regular 4‑H club is on hiatus, or you want to meet 4‑Hers across the state. Youth will learn financial literacy and resume-building skills, share recipes and activities to get moving, play interactive games, meet youth from across New Jersey, and so much more. For 4‑H members in grades 4–13. Sessions will run on Thursday’s from 7:00-8:00pm ( Jan 21, Feb 18, and March 18).

January STEP Clubs
NJ 4-H Food Security Seminar Series
New Jersey 4-H is recruiting a team to participate in the World Food Prize Research Project. Youth members will work with a team to develop individual research projects addressing global food security issues. Participants will meet once a week with mentors and peers to prepare their research projects. Projects will be presented at the Rutgers University Youth Institute Summit on March 5. During this day-long program, students get to learn about critical global issues, network with local leaders, engage in hands-on activities, and explore exciting ways to become effective change agents in their own communities, conscientious global citizens, and tomorrow’s scientific humanitarian leaders. Sessions will run on Mondays, 7:00–8:00 pm starting January 4–February 1.

Globetasters 4: Cooking for Comfort
Warm your winter bellies with some homemade comfort food, we’ll make the recipes a bit healthier. You can cook right along with us or watch and make later. This program is for youth in grades 4–13. Sessions will run on Mondays, 4–5:30 pm starting January 4–February 22.

Creative Creations 4‑H STEP Club
Join youth from across the state for Creative Creations 4‑H STEP club! The focus of this club will be on creatively chasing away the winter blues by cooking, crafting, and upcycling. Projects include Valentine cupcakes and cards, origami, upcycled can owls and terrariums, and much more! This program is open to all 4‑H’ers in grades 4–13. Sessions will run Thursday afternoons from 4–5 pm starting on January 7–March 11.

Career Detectives STEP Club: Clean Energy
Are you a youth member in grades 7–13 who is interested in learning about a future career in clean energy? If so, the Career Detectives S.T.E.P club is for you! Join us for a fun and informative mini-series to learn about how you can accomplish your dream of working in the field of clean energy. Guest speakers from Rutgers Cooperative Extension, Stockton University, and the New Jersey Clean Energy Program are excited to connect with you. They will teach you about their careers and provide information about undergraduate degrees. We will be hosting fun trivia throughout the experience as well. Sessions will run January 25–27, 2021 from 7:00–8:30 pm.

My Body and Me (4‑H SPIN Club)
We invite 4‑H junior members (grades 4–6) to join us as we explore the human body. The human body is filled with unique systems and interesting organs that we could simply not live without! Each night, we will cover a specific system of the body and discuss the importance of that system. We will learn about ways to maintain a healthy body while doing interactive and engaging activities along the way. Youth will also have a chance to practice their presentation skills as they will work on a Career Research Assignment throughout the course and present their career at the end of the course. Sessions will run for seven Mondays at 7 pm (Jan 25, Feb 1, Feb 8, Feb 15, Feb 22, Mar 1, and Mar 8).

4-H Winter Wonderland
Middlesex County 4-H would like to invite everyone to visit our new 4-H winter wonderland website, sponsored by their 4-H presidents’ council and compiled by amazing teen leader Abby Semsel!!
It’s available to anyone and includes animal videos, a video from Santa and his reindeer, coloring pages to download, videos on gift wrapping and making hot chocolate jars, a holiday clogging dance, and a place where kids can e-mail Santa (and he will e-mail back).

2021 New Jersey State 4-H Model Horse Show
WHEN: Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021
OPEN TO: All 4-H members in good standing. Juniors are in 4th to 7th grade. Seniors are in 8th to 13th grade as of September 2020. *This is different than other State 4-H Equine Events.
WHERE: Virtually, using the SmugMug platform. Results will be posted as they are available throughout the day.
START TIME: Photos must be uploaded by 10 p.m. on Jan. 15, 2021. Judging will start around 9 a.m. Jan. 16, 2021.
